Personality Types
Abstract
It is common language to say someone has a "fiery" or "earthy" personality, referring to the four elements (fire, earth, air, and water). The current investigation will explore if participant's given personality types derived from the Myers Briggs personality test correlates with the element of their zodiac sign. Personality will be assessed from the framework of Jung, where there are four main functions of consciousness: that there are two perceiving functions: intuition and sensation along with two judging functions: feeling and thinking. Participants will complete an anonymous online survey assessing their personality type and demographic information (including birthday). Specifically, I hypothesize that a person's personality type from this Jungian framework will correlate with zodiac signs in the following manner: Fire with intuition, Earth with sensation, Air with thinking, Water with feeling.
