The Kingfisher Lino Print on Paper 18” x 24” 2020
The Kingfisher is a depiction of a group kingfishers flying together. Being associated with peace, I chose to carve the kingfishers flying with its wings spread to remind myself of the sense of feeling “free” and “at peace”.
All my pieces are made for my own use and motivation. After the passing of my grandfather, birds became a way for me to feel safe and have a sense of comfort. The Great Horned Owl, Kingfisher, and Great Blue Heron are my current favorites in their own aesthetic and emotional ways.
