These lamps are created with natural materials of minerals and mulberry fibers that are transformed to clay, paper, and ink. They are then manipulated through slab rolling, hand building, and fine art printmaking into the assembled work presented here for my final Capstone exhibition. Each piece involved hand building with medium-fire clay, surface treatments of clear glaze coating, and individualized monotype printmaking with oil-based inks on Japanese Kozo paper. Each piece has been electrified to further its utilitarian function as a device for illumination and environmental augmentation.
