Abstract
Western mythology relies on its presumed supremacy. This reliance is found in both biblical and contemporary cowboy mythology. The tension in Thomas King’s Green Grass, Running Water derives from the idea that Western myths that glorify white heroes and vilify Native Americans provide no support for the modern Native characters in the text.
