Abstract
Bringing life to a stage takes more than just a talented actor. Every production enlists the aid of creative designers to assist in conceiving a universe unique in it’s own aesthetic. My work showcases the conceptualization and execution of the costumes I designed for Georgia College’s “The Sum of Me”. After reading the script, speaking with the director, and analyzing the dialogue to discover what these characters put on every morning, I was able to construct a cohesive ensemble of outfits that reflected their personalities and created an additional dimension to aid the storytelling. These looks were inspired by modern Parisian street styles and the natural element, granite.
