Thread on painted board
My work consists of three, large scale, thread pieces that depict light overcoming darkness. I use the layering of dark and light string on gesso board to create contrast, texture, depth, and liveliness within each piece. As communicated in my work, the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness is overcome.
