Abstract
In a 1929 paper, Issai Schur investigated the irreducibility over the rationals of the polynomials (Formula present) are integers with |an| = |a0 | = 1 and u2j+2 is the product of the odd numbers less than 2j + 2. We establish a more general result holds with the condition |an| = 1 relaxed but with finitely many exceptions. A proof is given showing that also, in some sense, the more general result is best possible.
