Abstract
This chapter briefly describes characteristics of the AI Era. It explains the AI Era Durable Skills Framework, which helps educators align their course content with the most needed competencies for career success. The framework contains a core of subject-matter expertise and adaptability. Around this core are five categories of skills: technical skills, communication skills, leadership skills, ethical reasoning, and problem solving and creativity. Recommendations are provided for how educators can develop AI literacy and connect with the right people to align course content with current workplace needs.
