Abstract

The research question for this paper is as follows: How do the keyness of certain words in articles and length of those articles affect how well they can be categorized automatically? The corpora that were used for this study were drawn from recent articles published on the BBC’s website as well as FOX News’ website. A code was created in order to analyze these two corpora and run them through two Natural Langauge Processing programs in order to see patterns in them that would otherwise go unnoticed. These patterns are discussed in the presentation along with their potential applications outside of academia.
