STEM to STEAM: Middle School Capstone and Sustainability

Abstract

Using an integrated approach to teaching about Sustainability. Teachers at GCEC are working to create a learning environment in which students are creating a three year research project to learn about sustainability. Teacher presenters will discuss their methods and rubrics to guide research for middle school students. 7th and 8th grade students will share their research on sustainability. 7th grade student Hely Patel will share her capstone project research on Acid Rain. 8th grade student Lacey Farmer will present her capstone research project on Vertical Vs. Horizontal Wind Turbines.
