Abstract of Research of Crowdfunding Incentives
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the incentive and motivators for donors to financially support an invention-based campaign through crowdfunding. This research will be investigated through a content analysis of invention campaigns that were deemed successful by reaching their financial goals from three crowdfunding sites: Indiegogo, Kickstarter and Rockethub. There will be focus placed on available incentives for donation offered to donors if the campaign is successful in its efforts to raise a certain amount of money. The study will ask what incentives or motivators are the most successful in attracting financial participation? and what incentives or motivators are most commonly offered in exchange for financial support?
