My brother was also very fond of trucks and loved working on his. This painting represents the day he got his license and what he named his truck.

My paintings are inspired by my brother and his passing back in 2013. I use family photos as references as well as objects that belonged to him. Each painting represents a personal memory. I have chosen to keep each painting in grayscale to emphasize memory as well as a sense of loss. In Requiem, my main title piece for this series, I have used a picture that is a memorial picture as well as kept the painting more abstract to emphasize memory. I use these techniques to express my feelings of grief for the loss of my brother but also to honor his memory.
