Abstract
The Writing for Success grant created a unit of study for fifth grade English-Language Arts with the theme "Flannery O'Connor and Storytelling." Students will develop increased literacy skills and confidence by exploring a wide array of writing styles, a middle-grades biography of Flannery O'Connor, and multi-modal storytelling through podcasting. This video features literacy consultant Caroline Lacksen introducing the curriculum and its unique components.
