Throughout the course of a student's experience in secondary school, arguementative writing is, arguably, one of the most important types of writing a student can master before they move on to college or a career. Therefore, this research focuses on a literature review based on the "Argumentitive Writing Method" popularized by Hillocks. The researcher also examines what an ideal unit based on the Arguementitive Writing Method would look like and which additional strategies would also be a goodl match for this method. In addition, the presentation of this unit will examine the strengths and weaknesses of using the Arguementitive Writing Method at the middle school level.
