Abstract
Many people in the United States today are not familiar with African-American spirituals. The purpose of this study is to discover if employees and students of the Georgia College campus are familiar with African-American spirituals. The researcher will ask participants if they are familiar with a title of a spiritual. If not, the researcher will play the spiritual from a provided mp3 player. The researcher will present the results, discovering if presence of a religious background, age, and race play a factor in determining knowledge of African-American spirituals.
