Abstract
Whole-Brain teaching uses physical interaction, repetition, and peer teaching to engage students during a lesson. In a classroom, targeting each specific engagement strategy can be difficult to do with limited time in a classroom. So, by using Whole-Brain teaching teachers can incorporate all types of engagement strategies. Whole-Brain teaching gives students the opportunity to be involved in the class in multiple ways each day. When students are engaged in multiple ways, then their brain is activated in multiple areas. When multiple areas of the brain are activated student will retain information better. The purpose of this study is to use observations to discover if Whole-Brain teaching increases student engagement. If engagement is increased then student learning should be increased.
