Abstract

Let's talk about women’s pleasure and sex. Does that make you uncomfortable? It shouldn’t. Sex for women should not be something kept quiet, but rather normalized and freely spoken about within the community. A survey shows that 55% of women chose not to talk about sex with their partner, even if they want to. Also, 37.7% of the same survey respondents said that they do not talk about sex because of “embarrassment on their part.” The Women’s Center's goal “fosters community, equity, and empowerment around gender and sexual identities through exploration, education, support, and leadership development. The Women's Center supports and affirms every student inclusive of sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, and expression.” Women deserve the same expectations, treatment, and social normalcy as men, even on college campuses. There is also an emphasis on the advocation for equality through sexual orientation, sexual identity, and sexual expression. Through tabling on the front campus for the event and community-based engaged learning, the goal is to spread our researched data that contributes to real-world application. Our research methodology includes researching deeply, posting informational videos on the Youtube channel, creating promotional flyers, and creating a beneficial conversation about the topic. Those who attend the event will obtain useful information that can help them in day-to-day life regarding sexual lifestyles and health. The project goal is to reach out to the local community and educate, give awareness, and a support system for women and the acceptance of their need in sexual desires. Research shows that humans are afraid to openly talk about sex and pleasure because of a lack of education among men and women. Destigmatization is needed in this essential part of life and can be done through increased awareness and the development of new and improved education systems.
